Femicide on the Border: The Lost Voices of Juarez

 Since 1993, more than 550 women have been murdered in Cuidad Juarez. Approximately 130 have been sexually tortured. Majority of ages range from 12-19.

1/3 work at maquilas, giving them odd hours to go from home to work and very little protection for these women is available.

Many cases are “unsolved,” some women are “unrecognizable,” and often evidence goes missing, leaving the case files to simply close.

This week the Women’s Resources Center will be hosting several events to raise awareness and honor the women of Juarez:
